I have had flat feet my entire life. It lead to my back pain and hip and knee pain. I had always neglected my calves. When I taught step classes i did not have to worry cause my calves were huge. I had just gone for PT on my knee and found that one ankle was extremely more rigid than the other. I do band exercises to strengthen my calves and ankles, and do lots of toe raises unweighted until theres a burn in calf( 3 sets of 30). Also do calf stretches. Make sure you wear arch supports in all your shoes. hope this helps chem.

good. it would be foolish for any business to put up with anything that an employee says. Even free speech is limited, as it should be, there are many cases when you can be rightfully penalized for what you say.

I have flat feet, too, but haven't experienced what you are experiencing. I do get a tightness and pain in my feet when I wear certain shoes that aren't shaped right for my foot. I realized it was because the shoe was not allowing for proper movement of my foot. The best sneakers for me are the Nike Free running and training shoes. The worst have been Nike Air Max running shoes, I think because the movement is too stiff. It also happens with new dress shoes, but goes away when they break in. As far as your calf exercises and getting cramps in your feet, that sounds like it may be more of a form issue than a flat-foot issue. I could be wrong as I'm not an expert. Is it possible your movement is too focused on the foot doing the work versus your calf muscle? At the top of the movement, is your foot flexed, or is your calf muscle flexed? I always keep my foot pretty relaxed during the exercise and really focus on my calf muscle and never have a problem. Also, for my flat feet, I've found that pointing my toes outward during my stand-up calf exercises really emphasizes the inner gastrocnemius. Good luck!

Okay the guy is an idiot. I believe the guy should say whatever he wants as long as he lives with the ramifications. He lost a very lucrative career because he cant keep his mouth shut? What a dildo.

I'm kind of drugged out right now (sleeping pills) YUm! jajaja. I have flat feet and have experienced this sensation you are experiencing. The tightening of the flesh- the feeling that it IS condensing itself into a little bitty blocky. jaja. I use suPA FEET! They are great- wait- yeah- I use the ones for active feet- but they have some for flat feet. I also wear think under-armor socks that offer extra Padding. The pain still arises from time to time when I am not preforming the exercise correctly. Heel raises are supposed to help develop your calves and you can also do calf presses on a 45degree leg press!!!! BAM! you might experience that sensation when your- ----practice- I'll be back.................. sleeping pills are taking control over my body!!!!!!! NO. sono matto. X0 BE SAFE!!!

So lets take it a step further - the gay (or straight) soccer star is one of the guys on here who writes about how he ignorant Christians are - a Mike Malloy (from Air America) who says "I hate Christians - have I told you today how much I hate these people"? Are you still going to support the firing? I'm not trying to make a case one way or the other, just like to look at all sides of issues and make sure I don't just see something from one angle.
